Frequently Asked Questions
Tell me about you!
My name is Katie Sue! I am originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania, but have settled in the Mid West. I have been knitting for around 3 years. I used to always dye my clothes as a teenager, so getting to dye yarn for people to use in their own projects is a dream. My other loves are sewing, all dogs, earl grey tea, classic rock, and telling stories.
Where is the yarn being dyed?
All of our products are made to order in the kitchen of our cozy home. Our home is a smoke free, pet friendly environment; but don’t worry, our snuggly friends are being cuddled elsewhere in the house while I am dyeing.
When can I expect my yarn?
I expect a 4-5 week turnaround between when you place your order and when I will have it mailed out. Time may be less depending on how many orders I have.
What bases do you offer?

Due to the yarn shortage, I may have to supplement my yarn from multiple sources. The yarn content will always remain consistent, but yardages may vary slightly. Regardless, your order will always be dyed of skeins from the same supplier, and your skein tag will always reflect the correct yardage.
Are your yarns mulesing free?
Yes! All of our base yarns are purchased from mulesing free distributors.
How do I take care of my yarn?
To ensure the longevity of your purchase, I suggest washing all of our yarns in cool water. All of our yarns are washed after being dyed to remove excess pigment. That being said, due to the nature of hand dyeing, some excess pigment may remain. These pigments are what give the skeins their deep and saturated color, but some transfer may occur (Think of it like breaking in a new pair of jeans!) Take care when using very dark or bright tones in colorwork, and only wash your completed pieces in cold water to prevent color bleeding. The super saturated shades are worth the little extra bit of care.
Any other shop policies I should know about?
Because of the made to order nature of hand dyed yarns, I cannot accept returns or offer refunds. That being said, if there is a problem with your order, or I made a mistake, please contact me. I will do everything I can to make it right.
